Amboseli National Park, with its low-rainfall, offers one of the best widlife-viewing experiences in the world with the melting snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro feeding the lower areas of Amboseli. A large variety of wildlife comprising of antelope, wildebeeste, giraffe, zebra, large herds of elephant, rhino and buffalo, and predators, such as the lion, cheetah and occasionally the leopard are found in the park. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants.
The Amboseli is also home to the Maasai people, and the Maasai tribesmen graze their goats and cattle here.
Another attraction of the park are the spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Activities include game drives, bush walks, and visits to the local Maasai manyattas (huts).
