Weber family Tanzania (February 2016)
Our trip was fantastic! All the &Beyond lodges/camps – Serengeti Under Canvas, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge – were spectacular but our favorite was Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. The landscapes at this Lodge were so different. John Moody of Game Plan Africa was a pleasure to work with and he arranged all our special needs such as luggage storage and a day room for a shower on the last day. &Beyond exceeded our expectations on every level, from dining experiences to personal service and game viewing. Tanzania is a lovely vacation destination. Will definitely return!
Emily Tanzania (September 2015)
Starting the safari planning was extremely daunting until I connected with John at Game Plan Africa. There are so many options when deciding which safari operator to use and so many small details, but John took over and made the process enjoyable. I was able to speak with him over the phone and let him know where I was interested in going and what my interests were. He took that information and found a safari operator that he trusted and matched my interests. John was also great about following up and answering my questions — even when they were not related to the safari but part of my overall trip to the continent. John was wonderful to work with and made sure that my safari experience was incredible. Safari Legacy was the operator in Tanzania and they did a great job in ensuring that everything ran smoothly. I did not have to worry about anything. My tour guide Salim was great! He made me very comfortable – especially since I was travelling alone. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. I enjoyed the tented mobile camps since it gave the feeling of really being out in nature. I loved the game drives. I was able to see a river crossing of the wildebeest migration. Overall, my trip was fantastic!
Pat, Debora and Tom Namibia (August 2015)
The magnificence of the geography and the opportunity to see animals roaming freely in their natural environment made being in Namibia truly special. We loved watching the animals at the waterholes in Etosha and the luck of it all – who would show up today? At which waterhole? It was a bit like playing the lottery. Interestingly, we were never disappointed – each game drive netted some highlights. In the Namib Desert, we loved climbing Big Red sand dune and running back down screaming. Each lodge was unique and each offered excellent guides, friendly staff, good food and very comfortable accommodations. Kulala Desert Lodge was superb in terms of food, views and accommodations. And Kulala uses solar power almost exclusively. Onkoshi Lodge is set inconspicuously in the bush on the edge of the Pan and allows wildlife to pass near and through the camp. John of Game Plan Africa was responsive to our questions and it was nice to have voice-to-voice discussions to sort out options and clarify the planning.
Harold and Jenny Rwanda/Tanzania (June/July 2015)
The trip exceeded our high expectations! &Beyond was the best ground operator we have experienced in Africa. Ngorongoro Crater Lodge was over the top luxurious and mind blowing. We loved the bubble bath with rose petals waiting for us after the game drives. But we thought the setting, staff and ambiance made Serengeti Under Canvas our favorite camp. We loved that everything was outside. We did not want to leave. Klein’s Camp has a stunning setting and rooms. Our fireside dinners after an evening game drive were very special. We were sad to leave as it was our last safari camp in Tanzania. Mnemba Island is a piece of heaven for sure. Five days without shoes and many special memories. Our gorilla trekking in Rwanda was the most enjoyable part of our entire trip. Seeing the gorillas and visiting a school was very special and emotional. John from Game Plan Africa has an encyclopedic knowledge of Africa and its numerous destinations!
Paul, DD and family Tanzania/Victoria Falls/Botswana (June, 2015)
The trip completely met our expectations. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge was terrific – people, guide, food, service and venue. The vista dominates at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and the rooms were fantastic. The manager was first tier. We’d go back to Klein’s Camp in a flash. Would make it a destination for several days. At River Club, Peter is an engaging proprietor and the ambiance was actually a delightful change. David, the manager at DumaTau, is fantastic. Venue is delightful, staff consistently wonderful and the guide Tank was memorable. Jacks Camp was fascinating with the management, staff and guide all stand-outs. John Moody at Game Plan Africa planned a trip that was keenly consistent with our hopes and expectations, so bravo! John is a true professional with earnest, extended attention to clients needs and desires, resulting in fulfilled expectations and exciting choices. We would rate our trip as fantastic!
Dana and Mark Botswana/Victoria Falls (June 2015)
Our trip more than met our expectations. It was a great and varied experience. Game Plan Africa did a great job in putting together a complex itinerary which was executed flawlessly. Thank you! Wilderness Safaris was great as our ground operator in Africa. The Victoria Falls Hotel was all we thought it would be. Beautiful grounds. Great location. Historic hotel with very accommodating staff. Great place to spend a couple of days in Victoria Falls. At the Hide Safari Camp we had three game drives per day. The hide experience was exceptional. The Zambezi Sands had the most beautiful accommodations. Selinda Explorers Camp was our favorite with a great combination of the Delta experience and wildlife together with great staff. Truly awesome in every way. A very, very special place. We’ll be back. Tubu Tree Camp is an outstanding property located literally in the trees. Accommodations were terrific as was the game viewing. A fantastic trip!
Kyoko Tanzania (May 2015)
We were amazed at the amount of comfort and luxury at Serengeti Under Canvas given that everything is mobile and the staff works to set it up every few months. We loved the ability to drive far north and then far south and really explore the multiple landscapes of the Serengeti which includes a wide range of animals and environments. Klein’s Camp has such a beautiful view — it was truly breathtaking! We loved having the night drives and changing the pace with a walking safari. Our last stop was at Manyara Tree Lodge where we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. The night animals, like bush babies and owls that we could see and hear near our room, was also very exciting and fun. Our guides throughout were excellent and spent time educating us and answering all our questions. When planning a safari, I would absolutely recommend to others to book through Game Plan Africa so that they can speak to an informed party about all of the options for their safari.
Ellen Tanzania (May 2015)
The trip blew our expectations out of the water! The lodgings, the food, the service and most especially the people were top notch. Serengeti Under Canvas gives you the feeling that you are out in nature but with some hotel-like comforts. The staff is excellent. Looking out the window at Klein’s Camp one morning, we counted 100 elephants just below us. And the views from our porch were incomparable. We enjoyed being able to go off-road and even get out of the landcruiser for a walking tour. At Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, we took some time to relax. We enjoyed the fine dining and service and the luxurious bathtub and bedding. We came to Africa for the animals and saw plenty of them, but also enjoyed meeting all the people. Everyone we met won us over. Game Plan Africa planned a fantastic trip for us.
Ross and friends South Africa (May 2015)
Our trip was fantastic! Game Plan Africa provided excellent service with great suggestions and certainly planned an incredible safari! Fitzpatricks at Jock was incredible. The staff was superb. Seeing so many animals in their natural habitat was amazing. Our ranger Estian was phenomenal. He took the time to educate us and share his knowledge of the wild with us. More Quarters in Cape Town wrote the book on customer service. And the location was excellent!
Pamela and friends South Africa/Botswana (April/May 2015)
I want to go back! We loved the animals and the food was great. Londolozi Varty Camp had a beautiful view with excellent service and food. We loved the decor at Tubu Tree Camp. Our guide Joe was a bush man and taught us a lot. Outdoor showers are cool. DumaTau was excellent, much the same as Tubu Tree but yet different. Our trip was fantastic.
Aida and Allan South Africa (May, 2015)
We cannot imagine a better game lodge than Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. Everything from the suite, the dining, staff, spa and ambiance was top notch. We would go back again. John Moody at Game Plan Africa did a wonderful job and handled all our questions with aplomb. We have already recommended it to many friends. And we hope to make another visit soon.
David and Sally Namibia (April, May 2015)
We would rate our trip as fantastic plus! The Hotel Heinitzburg was enjoyably luxurious with delicious food and outstanding breakfasts. At Kulala Desert Lodge, we had a lovely dinner in the wine cellar and enjoyed an impressive “barbecue” in the desert with candles. At Little Ongava, we didn’t really want to leave our suite! Birds at the private plunge pool, total privacy, masses of space, lovely outdoor shower. It was so interesting to visit the Himba camp during our stay at Serra Cafema. Some favorites of the trip included seeing the lions and cheetahs at Little Ongava, ballooning and the arrival for lunch at the Skeleton Coast. The trip exceeded our expectations!
Marylinda and Mark Botswana/Zambia/South Africa (April, May 2015)
We thoroughly enjoyed the game drives and the guides who made the game drive experience so memorable. At Chitabe Camp, on our first morning, we saw three male lions, three leopards, a mother and two teenagers. We got great photos. At Tubu Tree, we witnessed an impala and leopard standoff which was fascinating. At Kings Pool Camp, we were surprised with a lunch at the hide which was amazing. What a thrilling experience to fly over Victoria Falls! Our least enjoyable part of the trip was traveling home. We already missed Africa. Game Plan Africa provided great information and we knew what to expect. We had a fantastic trip.
Leslie and Graham South Africa (April 2015)
Our trip exceeded expectations! The game viewing experience will be with us forever. It was magical. Even without the game sightings, the drives in the open vehicle through the landscape at sunrise and sunset were glorious. From the start Game Plan Africa made everything as easy as possible. The accommodations were great. The Castello Di Monte was a gorgeous, fascinating place. Rovos Rail was a a delightful and memorable step back in time. We loved everything about Exeter River Lodge. Our room was one of the most fabulous ever. The animal viewing at Ngala Tented Camp was phenomenal. It was a joy to find the very thoughtful notes from John at each new location. And lots of other special touches along the way such as the champagne evening game drive were very much appreciated. It all worked to give us a fantastic trip!
Louie and Alan Botswana/Victoria Falls (March 2015)
Our trip was fantastic! We loved all the camps where we stayed but our favorites were Chitabe and DumaTau. We saw the most animals at Chitabe but the setting for DumaTau on the water was great. The surprise supper on the terrace our last night at DumaTau was very thoughtful of the camp management and very festive and a lot of fun for us. Our guides Tank at DumaTau and Luke at Chitabe were better than excellent. They were terrific! We also loved being able to watch the elephants from our accommodations at Vumbura Plains. We felt well prepared for the trip thanks to Game Plan Africa!
Don and Cathy South Africa/Botswana/Victoria Falls (April, 2015)
Having been to Africa 25 years ago, we set our expectations based on that experience. This trip was managed and executed with precise timing and we felt like royalty throughout the journey. Castello DiMonte is a beautiful property that was a perfect respite after a long flight. Rovos Rail was an elegant, roomy and sophisticated way to see the countryside of South Africa. We especially enjoyed the health club for workouts at the Mont Rochelle Hotel. It was easy to walk from the Victoria & Alfred Hotel in the Cape Town waterfront to get to the Robben Island tours and find some wonderful restaurants. Although we loved both Tubu Tree Camp and DumaTau Camp in Botswana, we particularly enjoyed DumaTau. The layout of the property, the solar heating of water and other environmental considerations and the quality and friendliness of the staff greatly impressed us. Overall, we had a fantastic trip!
Graham and Nancy South Africa (December 2014)
Things worked like clockwork and we were never stranded or left wondering what would happen next. The people at Idube really went out of their way to make Christmas Eve a special evening for guests. We had a great dinner with all the trimmings at a pavilion outside of the lodge. It was a super evening! The breakfast at the Victoria & Aldred Hotel in Cape Town was outstanding with great views of Table Mountain while you eat. The location was great for tours and access to waterfront shops and restaurants. The Oyster Box is a great hotel in an outstanding setting. Our tour guide in Cape Town, Lazarus, was excellent. It was a pleasure spending the day with him and having him share his knowledge of the city and his country with us. Game Plan Africa provided great service. We provided the cities and the dates and they organized the rest. They kept us well informed and provided copies of all the documentation that we needed. It was a fantastic trip!
Lana and Barry South Africa (October 2014)
The trip was over the top, flawless! We loved Singita Ebony the most. It was cozy, classy and awesome. The setting at Singita Lebombo was breathtaking. We loved the eclectic look of the villas and the plunge pool. With our guides, they just kept getting better and better as we went to the different lodges. Wilderness Safaris provided seamless services while we were in Africa. Game Plan Africa provided impeccable, perfect, flawless service and more in the planning of our trip. It was a fantastic trip!
Lynne and friends South Africa (October 2014)
There was a surprise around every corner. This trip was perfectly planned and executed. I could not have asked for more. My expectations were exceeded. Loved Exeter River Lodge and the staff…lovely room, deck and pool on the deck. Beautiful outdoor shower. My favorite lodge was Singita Ebony. I loved the old time elegant feel of the lodge. I felt like I was on safari. The furnishings were rich and somewhat more formal just like in Out of Africa. The staff was like a family. The boma at Singita Lebombo was fabulous and relaxing. We asked Kristof, our amazing tracker, to join us. The game drives were exciting, especially seeing the leopard in the tree eating his prey. We loved every minute of our trip. It is a spiritual journey into experiencing life as it was meant to be experienced. Special thanks to John at Game Plan Africa for planning this amazing trip for us.
Mike and Kim South Africa (October 2014)
The trip met all of our expectations. We thought that the length and the balance between safari and touring activities in Cape Town was perfect. We would highly recommend Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa and we would definitely stay there again. The rooms, service and food were outstanding. At our first ever game lodge (Kings Camp), we saw 4 of the Big 5 on the first game drive! In many ways, Leopard Hills was a favorite due to the staff in the office, the restaurant, the bar and the game drives. The rooms at Madikwe Hills were extraordinary and the wildlife viewing from our room and the dining terrace was very special. We loved the way the lodge was built into the rock. The Cape Grace may be our new favorite hotel in the world! It was spectacular from the moment you entered. The level of amenities and attention to little details was really great. We so appreciated the birthday and anniversary recognition wherever we went. It meant so much that the time was taken to alert the hotels and lodges of the significance of the trip for us! The trip as planned by Game Plan Africa was outstanding.
Jeannie and friends South Africa (September 2014)
I loved the animals and the birds and we had excellent opportunities to enjoy them all. The City Lodge at the airport in Johannesburg is a good hotel for an overnight to start the safari since it is so convenient. The staff at Kirkman’s made this a very special place. They joined us one evening for our sundowner for singing and dancing entertainment. We loved the river setting of Ngala Tented Camp and the trees around the tents. The rooms were fabulous. Everything was wonderful throughout the trip and I would rate the trip as fantastic!
Susan and Thomas South Africa/Namibia (September/October 2014)
The trip met our high expectations! Exeter River Lodge was my absolute favorite place. The staff seemed to really enjoy the work. The food was excellent, the rooms beautiful, etc. but it was the attitude that I thought set it apart. Dock House in Cape Town – what a classy operation…could not be more lovely. The most enjoyable part of the trip though was seeing animals, animals, animals. I am considering joining a hippo pod…also will treasurer the hike up Table Mountain — love having the bragging rights – and the ascent up the Big Daddy dune in Namibia. We were very pleased with the services of Game Plan Africa. This turned out to be the perfect itinerary.
Maxine and friends South Africa/Namibia (September/October 2014)
Loved Londolozi Varty. The setting and rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The staff was welcoming. The food was delicious. It was my favorite lodge…it is the complete package. The Dock House in Cape Town is a great hotel. My room was enormous and elegant. Food was great and the staff was always available when needed. In Windhoek, the Hotel Heinitzburg has a spectacular view and a great restaurant. Wilderness Safaris was excellent as the ground operator in Africa. Thanks to Game Plan Africa for planning an outstanding trip in every way.
Jean and friends South Africa (September 2014)
Cape Town was great! We enjoyed the Gold Museum….thought it would be pretty touristy, but the drumming was fun and the food was excellent…a good introduction to South African food. The Fairview Winery was quite nice. They make great cheeses as well, so the cheese and wine pairing tasting was a bit different than what one usually experiences at a winery. Kirkman’s Kamp was my favorite. I really liked the colonial feel of the camp, the warties on the lawn and the monkeys stealing the bread off the tables on the tea deck at lunch! We liked both Ngala Lodge and the Tented camp. The Tented Camp reminded me a little of Kings Pool….very elegant…nice staff! It was a great trip! Thank you Game Plan Africa for planning another fantastic trip for us.
Deborah and family South Africa (August 2014)
We had a great trip. I would highly recommend Kirkman’s Kamp. The staff was attentive, the food delicious (and abundant), the atmosphere idyllic and our ranger and tracker were delightful. Our rooms each had a patio overlooking the valley. Animals came and grazed on the property. Our first night we watched a hyena amble past on its way to somewhere. Our son was visited by a family of monkeys at the patio door — they peered at him while he stared back at them. And thanks to wifi, he texted us an adorable photo. We would go back again! The Radisson Blu in Cape Town was awesome. Our room was fantastic. We booked a suite as opposed to two rooms and it was actually more like a three bedroom apartment. We enjoyed sunset on the deck with a glass of wine. It was perfect. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the staff very helpful. The shuttle to/from the Victoria & Alfred waterfront was extremely helpful. Overall, we would rate our trip as fantastic!
Kim and Timothy (with friends) Tanzania (July 2014)
The trip was wonderful. Kiloti Safari Camp was small and intimate. We enjoyed a nice pre-dusk walk to a sunset viewing area, during which we got to view elephants. We particularly enjoyed the fire pit and having dinner under the stars on the second night. The setting at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is amazing and very close and easy to get into the Crater. Maisha Seronera Mobile Tented Camp was very luxurious. It was our favorite camp. The setting is completely integrated into the landscape near a stream. It was a special experience to hear the animals during the night. We felt very connected to nature. It was fabulous that Game Plan Africa had taken care of everything so we only had to worry about enjoying ourselves.
David and Carl South Africa (June 2014)
The accommodations at Jock Safari Lodge were very nice and comfortable. We especially liked the covered deck with a day bed outside our room. At Exeter River Lodge, we found the accommodations to be quite luxurious. For dinner one evening, the staff surprised us by setting up a private table in an outdoor heated cabana beside the pool. The walkway to the cabana was lighted with candles inside paper bags. We loved the special treatment! Game Plan Africa was very helpful in making all of the arrangements and preparing us for what to expect during the trip. Wilderness Safaris was excellent as the ground operator in South Africa. We enjoyed the entire trip!
Brenda and family Botswana/South Africa (May 2014)
The trip was unforgettable! Everyone had the best time and everything was so well organized which made us very relaxed. Saxon Boutique Hotel is a beautiful resort in the middle of the city. Mombo Camp – what an amazing place! We cannot wait to go back. At Londolozi Pioneer Camp, it was like having a villa to ourselves. At both camps, the game was incredible and the guides were fantastic. At Singita Sweni, the terrain was so fantastic and we loved the location by the river — so wild! Thank you Game Plan Africa for planning the trip of a lifetime for us!
David (with David) Botswana/Victoria Falls (May 2014)
David and I were happy with the three camps we visited (Banoka Bush Camp, Savuti Camp and Toka Leya Camp) from food to hospitality to rooms to drives to everything! We loved Banoka. The whole team was great — every one of them. They also made a very nice and tasty birthday cake to recognize my birthday which I appreciated. At Savuti Camp, the staff was great and our safari drives were rewarding. Toka Leya Camp is charming with its location on the river. One of the best parts of this safari was the walking safari option that we took at Banoka. It’s a whole different experience which we highly recommend. Our trip was fantastic! Game Plan Africa planned a trip that was a good pace for us and we are very satisfied.
Angie and Mark South Africa/Victoria Falls (December - January 2014)
We loved MalaMala. We saw many animals on our game drives and our ranger worked very hard to make it a super experience for us. We had an equally wonderful time at Sabi Sabi. The staff was wonderful and provided superior service. We loved the game drives and having the interaction with the trackers and rangers at both lodges. We really enjoyed our stay at River Club. The activities were terrific and they really did a great job helping us organize our visit to Victoria Falls. The drivers throughout our trip were all very informative and did a super job transporting us to our destinations. Game Plan Africa provided excellent service which assured that we had a fantastic trip!
Al and Gail Malawi (March/April 2014)
Mumbo Island Camp is a true gem! Magical place to enjoy a part of Africa we have never experienced. We loved the Robinson Crusoe feel. Had to be seen to be believed! Mvuu Lodge was a top notch facility with great guide, great management, great scenery, super attentive staff, delicious food, great wildlife sightings. Highly recommend this lodge.
Irene Victoria Falls/Botswana/South Africa (March 2014)
Being a single traveler was quiet easy. I would recommend this type of trip to all single travelers. The guides were all extremely knowledgeable, professional and yet friendly. They were accommodating to guests needs (i.e., stopping for bird photos when asked and going on evening game drives after a very long day). At Toka leya, I had my first African experience of being in a tent and listening to the sounds all night long. My two most favorite lodges were Kirkman’s Kamp and DumaTau. I liked the homestead look and feel of Kirkman’s Kamp with its scenic location. DumaTau had my personal favorite tent accommodation with a bathroom overlooking a water view. The Cape Grace Hotel was fantastic! Concierge was extremely helpful. The buffet breakfast had an incredible selection. Game Plan Africa provided thorough planning of the trip with an experience which included diverse habitats/scenery and game viewing, staying in both small and large camps. They were attentive to questions and established expectations for a single traveler. The trip was fantastic!
Jesse and Mark South Africa/Botswana/Victoria Falls (March 2014)
The trip totally met our expectations — good food, good guides, great game views! The camps (in particular Little Vumbura) were really spectacular. We were met at airports consistently which was a huge help and we were very impressed with the meet and greet at each camp, after each drive, after each meal, etc., etc. We really enjoyed our guides both at Wilderness camps and at Kariega. They were smart, interesting and certainly well versed in their jobs. African Elite Apartments in Cape Town was AMAZING – beautifully situated with great access and the staff was so helpful. Cape Town was so nice and with so much to see, I wish we had stayed longer. We also loved the Garden Route and Knysna too. Kariega Uhozi Lodge was an outstanding location with great game viewing. Little Vumbura, probably our favorite camp, was intimate, well designed, with incredible customer service and an ideal location for experiencing the Okavango Delta. The dinner/show at the boma were two of our trip highlights. There are few places that we would visit a second time but this camp was one of those special places. Vee and Glenda were so patient throughout the planning process and we were incredibly pleased with our trip. If/when we do another excursion to Africa, we will certainly reach out to Game Plan Africa. Our expectations were consistently exceeded!
Donald and Paul South Africa (January/February, 2014)
We have taken great trips but this was the trip of a lifetime! Each property was incredible. At Madikwe Hill, we were 15 feet from four cheetahs. We’ll never forget it. Tsala Tree Lodge – again – incredible. The only complaint was that we wanted to stay longer and definitely will return. Grootbos, while very different, had incredible landscape and ocean views. The trip was worth every penny and more. Game Plan Africa gave us a super trip due to their superior knowledge and experience. Again, it was the trip of a lifetime!
Harriet and Paul Namibia/Botswana (February/March, 2014)
The trip surpassed even our high expectations! Our guide Stewart at Little Kulala was 5 star — huge joyful personality, great information on geology, birds, flora and ungulates. Loved being in the desert at Little Kulala. Staff was wonderful! We had another excellent guide, Ona, at Duma Tau who was exciting and enthusiastic. Loved visiting the new Duma Tau as much as the old one in 2007. Beautiful tented rooms, lovely dining area, great staff and excellent food. Game sightings were fabulous and the wild dogs here were sensational. We saw a lioness and cubs at a kudu kill and three hyenas at an old impala kill. Jao Camp was unlike any other camp we’ve experienced. Architecture was spectacular! The staff was simply amazing in their desire to make our stay perfect. Wilderness Safaris flights are an adventure with gorgeous scenery below and great pilots (with handy airsick bags for Harriet). Wilderness Safaris was flawless as the ground operator in Africa. Vee and Glenda at Game Plan Africa have been sensational for a second year in arranging diverse experiences for our time frame and budget, accommodating special requests like oysters. These trips have been the favorite travel adventures of our lives and they do change us.
Jacinta and Heather South Africa (November, 2013)
Exeter River Lodge – FANTASTIC PROPERTY, GREAT STAFF! The birthday cake with song and dance with dinner was a nice touch. We loved the breathtaking views of the ocean upon entering the lobby of the Radisson Blu. We loved the safari. The experience was amazing! Game Plan Africa provided and organized a trip which exceeded our expectations. It was definitely a once in a lifetime trip!
Angie and Mark South Africa/Victoria Falls (November, 2013)
We loved the game drives and having the interaction with the trackers and rangers. At MalaMala, we saw many animals on our game drives and our ranger worked very hard to make it a super experience for us. We had a equally wonderful time at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp. The staff was wonderful and provided superior service. We really enjoyed our stay at River Club. The activities were terrific and they really did a great job helping us organize our visit to Victoria Falls. Game Plan Africa provided excellent service. We would rate our experience as fantastic!
Valerie and Alan South Africa (November, 2013)
Our tour guides were excellent – knowledgeable, friendly and responsive to our preferences. Singita Sweni is a very attractive lodge. It is small, cozy and intimate. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We went for the animals and they were plentiful!
Lowrey and Matthew of Utah Botswana/South Africa (August 2013)
Loved the game drives, the rooms, the hospitality and the people. Our guide (Roy) and tracker (Derek) at Arathusa Safari Lodge were incredible. We went on two bush walks with Roy – probably our favorite time. Stunning and unique, Jacana Camp is definitely a birding camp, but the hippos, elephants, ungulates and crocs were in abundance too. It was never boring, particularly with our superior guide Mecuru. Kwara Camp felt like a true bush camp to us. Our guide Hobbes and his tracker Mopani were excellent. Lebala Camp was another beautiful location with the best rooms. Game Plan Africa provided efficient, clear and timely communication with a good knowledge of the places to visit. I would never have gone to the Sabi Sands without Vee’s recommendation but it was a great experience. Take half the clothes you think you’ll need. Fantastic trip overall!
Larry and Susan of New Jersey Kenya (June 2013)
What an exceptional experience at Giraffe Manor. Giraffes from your breakfast table was an experience we won’t forget. The lodge and grounds at Lewa Safari Camp were beautiful and the food was excellent. At Il Moran our tent accommodations were great – 10 feet from the river where we could see hippos, crocs, baboons, etc. Peter and Daniella were once again excellent hosts at the beautiful Tortilis Camp. The trip greatly exceeded our expectations with the best part seeing the animals in their natural habitats yet so close. The trip was the trip of a lifetime!
Sandy and Jeff of Georgia Botswana and South Africa (May 2013)
The trip exceeded our expectations, as always, which is funny because the bar keeps getting higher with each trip! Mocks (our guide at DumaTau) lives up to his Internet reputation! Super energy! When we asked him if we could do “everything” while only staying two nights, he made it happen – wild dogs, lunch on the boat, night drive, just couldn’t have been much better. The bush dinner at Chitabe was the most authentic/unique meal experience we had on the trip. We dream of Duba Plains and will go back again. Loved Duma Tau camp – location, facilities, staff, guides, food, activities. Great staff attitude. Incredible game viewing. Londolozi Founders Camp also had great game viewing. Wilderness Safaris is the gold standard for ground operators and we would not recommend anyone else. Game Plan Africa planned another flawless trip! Great recommendations and they made sure that we had everything in order before we went!
Sandra and Patrick of Georgia South Africa (July 2013)
Our time at Tanda Tula was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was wonderful and the food was outstanding. The game drives were most enjoyable. Overall our trip was fantastic! We would highly recommend Game Plan Africa, Wilderness Safaris and Tanda Tula.
Casey and Laura of Georgia South Africa (May/June 2013)
It was an amazing trip! Our guides Jeffrey, Diff and Keith were outstanding. The best guide and tracker of the trip (Keith and Norman) were at Inyati Game Lodge. They were kind, knowledgeable and very intent on showing us the animals. AMAZING lodging, ground, staff, food, etc. at Kapama Buffalo Camp. At Simbavati River Lodge, we had a fun guide and track with great game viewing. Seeing and photographing the incredible animals – a once in a lifetime experience! Our trip was fantastic!
Fisher Family of Illinois Botswana/Victoria Falls (May/June 2013)
Getting from camp to camp went very smoothly and was coordinated during the down time of the day so we missed no safaris. We loved all of our tour guides. Each was very different in approach but were very knowledgeable and helpful. At River Club, we enjoyed the walking safari and elephant ride as well as seeing six of the eight white rhinos. At DumaTau Camp, the spacing between the tents made it feel as if no one else was around. The location of Vumbura Plains Camp was great and the staff was exceptional. The wildlife was top notch. At Chitabe Camp the wildlife was spectacular. Getting to see a lion kill is an unforgettable experience. Couldn’t have been more pleased with Game Plan Africa on their assistance and recommendations. Would highly recommend to friends or others to use for the future.
Kay and Joe of Georgia South Africa/Botswana/Victoria Falls (April/May 2013)
All our tour guides were excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Thomas, our guide in Cape Town, was brilliant! At Londolozi, James was a great guide and we really enjoyed dining in the boma. Chitabe Camp was beautiful. Little Vumbura was one of the most beautiful places on earth and unforgettable! We cannot decide on a favorite lodge/camp as each has its own charm and feel. Being on safari is like nothing else we have ever experienced. Cape Town is beautiful and diverse. Vee at Game Plan Africa was great!!!! We would not have known where to start so we cannot say enough about Vee. Can’t wait to go back…our family loved every minute of it.
Karen and Raymond of Georgia South Africa (May 2013)
The trip went above and beyond our expectations. It was fantastic! We hated to leave Elephant Plains Game Lodge. We loved being in the bush, the staff was lovely and the game drives were just amazing. Game Plan Africa provided great services for a seamless trip.
Barbara and Wayne of Georgia Botswana/South Africa (May 2013)
We loved seeing all the wildlife on game drives at Chitabe Camp, Lagoon Camp and Jaci’s Tree Lodge. We saw wild dog everywhere! We even saw a lion kill. Lagoon Camp put on the absolutely best local singing and dancing show. All our guides were outstanding in that they knew the terrain and animal populations and made every effort to give us the best possible experience at each place. Wilderness Safaris is probably the best ground operator we have encountered and Game Plan Africa provided us with great service.
Cathy and Andrew of Washington, DC South Africa (December, 2012 - January 2013)
The trip totally exceeded our expectations. Lazarus, our tour guide in Cape Town, was very knowledgeable and pleasant and a great person to spend the day with. At Elephant Plains we enjoyed having dinners in the boma which is a great setting. The camp is a really good value for the money. Chapungu Tented Camp is a love more intimate camp where we experienced great safari drives. Game Plan Africa gave us excellent advice when planning the safari.
Nancy and Brenda of Georgia Victoria Falls/Botswana/Cape Town (October, 2012)
Evan, Moses and Sam were our three exceptional guides during our trip, with each being different and yet bringing a love of the land and animals to our experience. Wilderness Safaris is an excellent ground operator. We appreciated how they trained the staff and how they care for the land and communities. We loved Toka Leya! Evan took us to a village near Toka Leya which was a wonderful experience. Duma Tau was probably the most beautiful camp. At Little Vumbura, Millie and Hamish were great hosts and the staff was helpful and so caring. The Cape Grace Hotel was a wonderful experience. Overall we would rate our trip as fantastic!
Rick of Georgia Namibia (September, 2012)
The trip exceeded my expectations! Jimmy Limbo, my tour guide, was marvelous. His knowledge of absolutely everything from geology to animals was astounding. Kulala Desert Lodge was beautifully located next to the red sand dunes. Damaraland Camp had a very remote feel in incredible countryside. Desert Rhino Camp was my favorite camp with great setting, staff, accommodations, food, etc. Serra Cafema was remote and in a strikingly beautiful location. I had a wonderful experience – hiking the big dunes; riding in a rover over the dunes at Sandwich Harbour; riding the ATV at Serra Cafema; visiting the Himba villages; seeing the amazing landscapes; tracking rhinos – it was a great adventure!
Larry and Susan of Georgia South Africa (September, 2012)
The trip was more than we had anticipated. We loved the Cape Grace. It was sophisticated and yet the location allowed us plenty of tourist attractions outside their doors. We loved our stay at Tinga. The trip was a perfect mix between history and game viewing.
Sandy and Allan of Georgia Botswana/Zambia (September, 2012)
Enjoyed the safari as it just got better and better. At Chitabe we saw 22 sable antelope in one sighting. At Savuti we saw nine lions kills a Cape buffalo and also saw wild dogs with cubs. The safari was beyond expectations!
Dave and Martha of Georgia Kenya (August, 2012)
One of the best experiences of our lives. We will go to Africa again. All our camps were excellent but we loved being next to the river at Elephant Pepper Camp. Overall it was a fantastic experience!
Ralph and Jay of Georgia Botswana/Victoria Falls (July/August, 2012)
I was very impressed with Wilderness Safaris. It is clear that they have strict protocols, people are extremely well trained and they do everything in their power to make the guest experience a good one. Linyanti Adventurer Camp was hands down the best stay of the trip. We were fortunate enough to see leopards and lions. Throughout the safari, each game drive gave at least one special thing to remember as we observed animals in a little different setting. We got everything that was promised on this trip and more.
Stacey of Georgia Botswana and Zambia (June, 2012)
The trip met our expectations and then some! It was absolutely outstanding. Life changing! The guides at Chitabe, Little Vumbura and Savuti were all outstanding. My first experience was Chitabe Camp where the people, the atmosphere and the game drives were all amazing. We got to see two lions take down a buffalo – a very rare occasion! Our trip was fantastic and Game Plan Africa provided 5 star services!
Jim and Kathleen of Wisconsin South Africa (May, 2012)
Our tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable at Chitwa Chitwa, Mala Mala and Savanna. Savanna Lodge was our favorite lodge and we would go back in an instant. Glenda and Vee have been extremely helpful and responsive. We will definitely call them when we plan a return trip to wonderful Africa.
Dave and Sally of the U.K. Botswana and Zambia (May, 2012)
Our trip exceeded our expectations in many ways. Chitabe Camp was outstanding with its room and service. We loved having bird and wildlife books in our room. Tongabezi was amazing with the beautiful view over the river from our room. The most enjoyable part of our trip was obvious – the game drives! Overall we would rate our trip as fantastic.
Alan and Valerie of The Netherlands Botswana (April, 2012)
Chitabe Camp was a great accommodation with excellent food and drink, super personnel. Our tour guide Molemi was one of the best guides we have ever had. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and eagle eyed. Tubu Tree Camp was great. It really was Okavango Delta country with loads of water all around. Everything about the trip was as promised – we’ll be back!
Carole of Wisconsin South Africa, Botswana and Zambia (March/April, 2012)
I had a GREAT time! The game drives, the accommodations, the food, and the hospitality all exceeded my expectations. I don’t know whether you planned the trip this way, but the Wilderness Safaris lodges just kept getting better and better as my trip progressed. I saw lots of game, including the Big Five, and I was lucky to experience amazing weather nearly every day. I did miss part of my first day as a result of delays caused by Air Botswana flight to Maun. The Wilderness staff in Maun was outstanding. They made me very glad that I had booked my trip with Wilderness. It really was the trip of a lifetime!
Barbara and Donna of New Jersey South Africa (September, 2011)
We loved Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge for its peacefulness and the experience of the safari. The lodgings were so comfortable and the staff very attentive. Our trip was fantastic! Thank you Game Plan Africa for the terrific planning. For our airline service, every South African Airways flight was on time and there was excellent space and service on board.
Judy and Evelyn of Mississippi South Africa, Zambia and Botswana (August, 2011)
The trip FAR exceeded our expectations. Each camp was unique and fabulous – Toka Leya, Savuti, Tubu Tree and Chitabe Lediba. The settings were beautiful, the guides great and the food excellent. Every day was better than the one before. Can’t wait to go again!
Diana of Alabama Zambia, South Africa and Victoria Falls (July 2011)
The trip way exceeded my expectations. I had the BEST time! I love all the people at Savanna Tented Lodge. I always feel at home and not just another guest. And the leopards are amazing! I loved the helicopter ride to Busanga Bush Camp in Zambia where I had my first ever sighting of servals in the wild!
Kathy of North Carolina Botswana and Victoria Falls (May 2011)
The camps on our overland Migration Routes safari in Botswana were excellent but I think Linyanti was my favorite because of the setting. I was impressed with how smoothly all connections/transportation was carried off and I was happy to be so well taken care of. Fantastic trip!
Jean and Don of North Carolina Botswana and Victoria Falls (May 2011)
On the Migration Routes overland safari in Botswana, our guide Brooks was the best. Vast knowledge, kind, friendly, protective without making us nervous. Great sense of humor. We can’t say enough. We were lucky to have him. A fantastic trip!
Jim and Kitty of North Carolina South Africa (April/May 2011)
The trip exceeded our expectations! The Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town was absolutely terrific. We had the chef’s tasting menu, which was a great experience. Wish we had been able to stay more days. Everyone at Savanna Tented Lodge made us feel like old friends. Coming back in the evening after being out on safari and having a hot bath, candles and Port waiting really sealed the deal for us. At Londolozi Tree Camp, our ranger Rex found every animal we wanted to see and answered the millions of questions we asked. Overall, a fantastic trip!
John and Carlisle of Illinois Botswana and South Africa (April, 2011)
We enjoyed all the camps but our favorite was Tubu Tree. It was smaller and quieter atmosphere. We have to single out Kambango, our guide at Tubu Tree, as extraordinary in his love and knowledge of the bush, his wonderful sense of humor and his understanding of people. Game Plan Africa was very helpful with a very diverse group with different needs and expectations.
Brian and Lesley of Idaho South Africa, Zambia and Botswana (April, 2011)
Our trip was fantastic! Tubu Tree Camp was absolutely wonderful. We have stayed at a lot of camps all over Africa and this was our all time favorite camp. Having elephants in the camp at Duma Tau was a real treat. On the flight to Livingstone, the pilot gave us a great look at Victoria Falls. Everything was so enjoyable that we hated to leave.
Shiraz and Kat of Georgia South Africa, Botswana and Victoria Falls (March/April, 2011)
The trip was an amazing experience that we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives. The hippo viewing at Savuti Camp was the best and we loved seeing the leopards, lions and wild dogs while on game drives at Chitabe Camp. The food at all of the camps was excellent. All our tour guides were knowledgeable, courteous and professional. The game drives along and learning about the culture were the highlights of this trip.
Jack and Barbara of Georgia South Africa, Zambia and Botswana (January/February 2011)
It was a fantastic trip! Kalahari Plains Camp was a great first introduction to safaris and Botswana. Little Vumbura is in a beautiful setting with hippos all around. We loved being welcomed with songs. Little Mombo Camp – WOW! It was over the top beautiful and classy. We loved the atmosphere and vineyard setting of the Auberge Clermont. Thanks to the guidance of Game Plan Africa we had a wonderful experience.
Jackie of Georgia South Africa (November, 2010)
I loved every part of the trip. Each location had its own unique attributes. I enjoyed the heritage and history associated with Johannesburg and the beauty/natural wonders of Cape Town. Seeing some of the big five wildlife up close was a definite hit too. This was my first group trip to South Africa. Game Plan Africa’s expertise and guidance in helping to set up the right itinerary was very valuable.
Tom of Ohio South Africa (October, 2010)
Wilderness Safaris rates a 10 out of 10 and we have already recommended to friends and family. We cannot say enough great things about Leopard Hills. The staff was outstanding, the food and drink was beyond our expectations but our ranger, Gary, and spotter, Ronnie were perhaps our favorite part of the lodge.
Peter and Paul of Washington South Africa, Botswana and Namibia (August/September 2010)
Every day brought new and wonderful experiences. The best part was just seeing so many new and amazing things and meeting new people. Game Plan Africa certain knew what they were doing because all of the places were first-rate. Our guides were excellent. Savuti and Xigera tied for our favorite camps.
Lynne of Georgia Botswana and Zambia (July/August, 2010)
Our guides were not only knowledgeable about the animals and birds, but also about the stars, and particularly about photography. Rain (at Little Vumbura), BB (at Chitabe Lediba) and Moses (at Selinda) stand out. They really helped make our photographs turn out magnificently. It is a toss-up as to which was my favorite lodge – Little Vumbura or Selinda. The staff was so wonderful and the camp was a combination of water and land activities. For Selinda, it was physically beautiful and once again the staff was terrific. Game Plan Africa provided excellent services, particularly being patient with some of our repetitive questions. Game Plan Africa delivered on what we wanted, and better than we could have imagined with a great mix of camps. Thanks for your guidance.
Kathy of Oregon Zambia (August, 2010)
I am a lifelong, extensive world traveler and my trip into the African wilderness was a life changing experience that has eclipsed any trip I have ever taken. As a student of tracking and being somewhat experienced in living in the wilderness, I was in 7th heaven. I intend to go back and spend a week or so at Tena Tena. It was my FAVORITE. Chongwe River Camp – elephants in the lodge, rivers, views, drives…where to start on the superlatives.
Beth and Ken of Atlanta Botswana and Zambia (July/August, 2010)
We had a fantastic safari! The staff at Little Vumbura especially made our experience unforgettable. From the guides finding lions (my birthday request) to champagne in my room, to a champagne celebration before dinner, to the “special” birthday cake – – the day was one I won’t forget.
Campbell Family of Atlanta Botswana and Zambia (July/August, 2010)
The trip exceeded our expectations. Wilderness Safaris was superb! Little Vumbura was our favorite camp because it was so intimate and the staff was sooo friendly. We also saw so many animals. The entire trip from planning to inception was flawless. We highly recommend Game Plan Africa to anyone wanting to on a safari.
Shally of Washington, D.C. South Africa (July, 2010)
Tswalu was outstanding. The service was unbelievable, only surpassed by the amazing food. Though the Kalahari is not known for buzzing with animals in the winter, we did see a ton of animals everywhere every day, including some very rare sightings of black rhino, large prides of female lions, and up close with bands of 25 meerkats. We would have no hesitation recommending this place to anyone.
Lyn and family of Connecticut South Africa (June, 2010)
Honeyguide Tented Camp gave our family one of the most exciting travel experiences we’ve ever had. Everything was perfect and better than we had imagined. The tents were spacious and comfortable, the food excellent and, most important, the camp was really geared toward children of all ages. The guides really connected with our children.
Leslie and Jim of Massachusetts Botswana/Zambia (June, 2010)
We loved riding alongside the lion pride as they stalked prey in the evening at Little Vumbura. Our guides always made sure we got the best angles for watching the game. The accommodations at Toka Leya were luxurious and the food was gourmet restaurant quality. Overall our trip was fantastic.
Susan and Richard of Louisiana South Africa (May 2010)
Our trip was perfect in every way. I would recommend this trip exactly as we did it – Cape Town and the wine lands – Madikwe Hills (we adored it!), Camp Jabulani served us dinner at whatever time we liked, game drives at late as we wanted, etc.), Kings Camp (by far the friendliest lodge ever!) and Leopard Hills (a perfect end to a perfect trip). We saw every animal imaginable!
Joan and Ralph of South Carolina Botswana (March/April 2010)
Trip EXCEEDED our expectations! The order in which we visited the lodges was perfect: birds at Jacana, animals at Little Mombo followed by the privacy and peacefulness of Vumbura Plains. Logistics were handled perfectly. It was the total package that will make this trip one of – if not the most – memorable of our lives.
Terry of North Carolina South Africa (April 2010)
Fantastic 3-day safari at Kirkman’s Camp where the food and accommodations were grand. Services provided by Game Plan Africa were great.
Lyndi and Jack of Nevada Tanzania (April 2010)
Everything was wonderful. We had an incredible experience! At Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, we couldn’t get enough of looking down into the crater at sunrise and sunset. Seeing the animals in their natural habitat on the game drives — it was totally amazing!
Renaul and Karen of South Carolina Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia (March 2010)
It is hard to say what was most enjoyable, the entire experience was so great. We loved Lake Manyara Tree Lodge in Tanzania and Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp in Botswana. The staff at both camps were wonderful and the food was great. Game Plan Africa provided the best services we could have imagined with planning and booking our trip – no detail was missed.
Gwen and Carolyn of Georgia Botswana (February 2010)
Absolutely awesome trip, all the way around. At Chitabe Camp, saw wild dog pack of 21 – fascinating to learn about their family behavior. Loved the elephant at our tent at Jacana Camp upon return from game drive – could have just reached out and touched it!
Diana of Alabama Botswana and South Africa (December 2009)
The trip exceeded my expectations by far! I had the BEST time! All my guides were excellent, but I had two favorites: Tony at Kalahari Plains and Neil at Savanna. Neil was the perfect guide, going out of his way to give us the best views. Kalahari Plains Camp is superb. I had the BEST cheetah viewing there – 18 cheetah in 4 days! Plus 1 leopard. At Savanna, I had great leopard viewing and the most wonderful Christmas day ever. I can’t wait to return and could easily spend a month or more there!
The Lewin family of Pennsylvania South Africa (December 2009)
The trip far exceeded our expectations. Exeter Dulini Lodge was the height of luxury. Loved stopping for sundowners at Kirkman’s and Dulini. Sitting in the middle of a herd of grazing buffalo was pretty cool, too! Of course we were there to see the animals, but having cocktails by the edge of a lake while watching hippos at sunset is a unique experience.
Diana and family of Vermont South Africa (December 2009)
The service we received from Wilderness Safaris was exceptional! Bushmans Kloof is one of the most interesting and beautiful places we have ever stayed. We would go back any time we are in that part of the world. Rattrays at Mala Mala was beautiful with spectacular rooms, delicious food, wonderful guides, and amazing animal viewing. Game Plan Africa did an exceptional job of working with our goals in designing our trip to South Africa. They were patient, thorough, and timely with every detail of our trip. It was a fantastic trip!
George and Deborah of Alabama Kenya and South Africa (October 2009)
We had a fantastic trip. We loved the camps for different reasons. Il Moran – great animal viewing, tens and dining Joy’s – great ambience; Elephant Pepper – excellent hosts.
John and Dorothy of North Carolina South Africa and Rovos Rail to Dar es Salaam (September and October 2009)
Our trip on Rovos Rail from Cape Town to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania was fantastic. The food and wine were equal to the finest restaurants in the world and the side excursions and lectures were excellent.
Susan and William of Maryland Kenya, Botswana and Zambia (September and October 2009)
Our favorite camp was Il Moran for the abundance of wildlife in the Mara – a truly remarkable, amazing spectacle- and the food. We loved our first balloon ride over the Masai Mara so much we did it again the next day. And Mombo Camp in Botswana – WOW! What a luxury camp. We even saw Legadema, the leopard that is the star in the National Geographic Movie, “Eye of the Leopard.” Visiting Victoria Falls was the grand finale for our trip. A highlight was the trip to Livingstone Island and a swim to Devil’s Pool. Overall a fantastic trip – loved being in the remote African bush and all the wildlife viewing. Game Plan Africa did an excellent job in booking every aspect of the trip and offering good advice and feedback when I needed it.
Eric and Sarah of Maryland Botswana and Victoria Falls (May 2009)
Jacana Camp: our favorite!! Superb staff, great managers, outstanding guide, wonderful accommodations (love the outdoor shower!). Talking with the people of Botswana and learning about their culture was fascinating. Can’t wait to do it again!
Bert and Bunny of Georgia South Africa (May 2009)
NOTHING like the game drives – the most exciting and unique experience we have had. Our guides were excellent. And we experienced a cheetah kill! Our trip was fantastic!!!!
Mike and Carol of Georgia South Africa (May 2009)
The game drives in the bush were exactly what we came to Africa to see. But the trip would have been incomplete without learning about the people! And birthday sunset cocktails atop Table Mountain! The trip was incredible. We hope to do another trip in a few years.
Carolyn of Georgia South Africa (May 2009)
I enjoyed learning about life in the townships, getting to meet and ask questions of the local people throughout the trip. I went to Africa for game viewing, which was awesome, but it’s the people of Africa who touched my heart.
Al and Gail of Maine Namibia (April 2009)
Little Kulala was fabulous but each lodge had its own ambience and flavor and we simply can’t pick a favorite. This trip was above and beyond our expectations. We saw more game during this trip than in three previous trips to Africa. The hot air balloon ride – followed by champagne breakfast – simply memorable!
Katia and Scott of Connecticut South Africa and Namibia (March 2009)
All our guides were EXCELLENT! The birthday touches for Scott at Londolozi Tree Camp were GREATLY appreciated. One of the most memorable things was sleeping under the stars in the rooftop bed at Little Kulala. We appreciate Game Plan Africa’s helpfulness, responsiveness and good suggestions.
Dawn and Gary of Georgia Botswana (March 2009)
The trip exceeded our expectations! Deception Camp was probably the highlight of our trip! And Xigera Camp is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen in our lives! Game Plan Africa and Wilderness Safaris were wonderful and made our trip fantastic.
Alan and Valerie of the Netherlands Namibia (February 2009)
It is difficult to say what was the most enjoyable part of our safari -sunset as Sossusvlei? Sand dune walking? Boma meal at Damaraland? Giraffe/lions/antelopes at Ongava? We appreciate the first class service provided by Game Plan Africa.
Brooke and Dov of Pennsylvania South Africa (October 2008)
Djuma Bush Lodge was our favorite. The friendly and intimate atmosphere was excellent. We loved getting to know the other guests and the personable manner of the staff and ranger.
