Wings Over Kenya

Luxury Tour - 14 Days

Kenya East AfricaOver this wonderful setting, the last of the earth's great concentrations of plains game, predators and many other animals wander through the wildlife sanctuaries.

Day 1: Depart USA

Board your overnight flight to Europe or London.

Day 2: Europe or London

Arrive in Europe or London, and connect with your flight to Nairobi.

Note: Other flight alternatives available.

Day 3: Nairobi

Early morning arrival in Nairobi, where your Wildlife Safari tour manager will meet and escort you to the Norfolk Hotel. Safari briefing by your Wildlife Safari tour manager in your hotel followed by an afternoon sightseeing tour of Nairobi, including visits to the Karen Blixen Museum and Rothschild Giraffe Center. Day 4: Amboseli

Mount Kilimanjaro Amboseli Game Reserve

 

Early morning transfer to Wilson airport and board your one hour flight to the Amboseli Game Reserve, enjoying magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Your Wildlife Safari vehicle and safari guide will meet you on arrival in Amboseli and you will embark on your first game viewing drive. Lunch at the Amboseli Serena Lodge followed by another late afternoon game viewing drive. Amboseli Serena Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 5: Amboseli

Your day begins with tea or coffee, before you set out for a dawn game drive. Game viewing is at its best at this time of the day and you can photograph wildlife against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to your safari lodge for a late breakfast, and spend the rest of the morning relaxing by the swimming pool, before another game viewing drive later this afternoon. Plant your own acacia tree as part of the Amboseli Reforestation project funded by Wildlife Safari and The Serena Group, and receive a special certificate. Amboseli Serena Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 6: Samburu

Morning flight from Amboseli to Samburu, via Nairobi, enjoying views of both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. Your Wildlife Safari vehicle and guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your luxury tented camp situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, where every tent is built on a platform and has its own private bathroom. Lunch and late afternoon game viewing drive in the Samburu Game Reserve, home to the rare and unusual reticulated giraffe, the long necked gerenuk, the Grevy's zebra and the beisa oryx. Day 7: Samburu

Full day of game viewing in the Samburu Game Reserve, where the landscape is a contrast of very dry scrub and lush palm lined oasis. Large baboon troops feed close to the river, out of range of crocodile basking on nearby sand banks. You may even encounter leopard in the branches of a nearby acacia tree. Samburu is also an ornithologists paradise, with numerous species migrating during the northern winter. A visit to the Samburu cultural village can also be arranged. Samburu Intrepids Camp (B,L,D)

Day 8: Ol Pejeta

Drive south this morning, passing through the town of Isiolo, arriving at the Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the few private sanctuaries in Kenya. Lunch at Sweetwaters Camp, a luxury tented camp built facing Mount Kenya. Afternoon wildlife viewing including a visit to Morani, the orphaned black rhino. Sweetwaters Camp (B,L,D)

Day 9: Ol Pejeta

Morning tour of the chimpanzee sanctuary established by Dr. Jane Goodall, where abandoned and confiscated animals are rehabilitated in a natural surrounding. A short boat ride on the Uaso Nyiro River will let you view man's nearest relative. Afternoon game viewing drive, with an optional night game drive. Sweetwaters Camp (B,L,D)

Day 10, 11, & 12: Masai Mara

Morning transfer to Nanyuki airport and board your charter flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Special four wheel drive vehicles will meet you on arrival in the Masai Mara and transfer you to the Mara Safari Club, the most luxurious tented camp in Kenya.

Built on an ox bow of the Mara river in the conservation area adjacent to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Every luxury tent faces the Mara river (where hippo and crocodile gather) and has a four poster bed and private bathroom. Enjoy three full days of game viewing by four wheel drive vehicles escorted by a professional guide. Mara Safari Club (B,L,D)

Day 13: Nairobi

A final early morning game drive in the Mara. Breakfast and return flight to Nairobi, with transfer on arrival to the Norfolk Hotel. The afternoon is free to relax by the pool or take an optional sightseeing tour. Enjoy a fabulous farewell dinner this evening in 'The Ibis Grill' restaurant at the Norfolk Hotel. Day 14: Europe and London

Day at leisure in Nairobi. This evening you will be transferred to Nairobi airport, where you will board your flight to Europe or London. Transfer to your hotel for the night.

Day 15: Arrive USA

Board your transatlantic flight home.
