Safaris in Botswana
include the Okavango Delta, Chobe
National Park, Moremi Game Reserve and
the Makagadikgadi Pans.
Botswana is a landlocked country of
real wilderness, about the size of France.
Two thirds of the land is arid Kalahari
savanna, unsuitable for agriculture.
Large areas have been set aside for wildlife
reserves and these include some of the
finest in Africa.
Safaris in Botswana can feature visits to:
Okavango Delta
 |
The magnificent Okavango Delta is
the largest oasis in the world,
a singular ecosystem covering about
8,500 square miles. It fans out
across the north western corner
of the country and creates a paradise
of islands and crystal clear lagoons,
teeming with birds and wildlife.

Most of the camps are small, accommodating
8 to 20 guests in luxury tents. They fall
into 2 categories, water camps, where
activities revolve around game & bird viewing
in mokoros (traditional dugout canoe of the
delta) or safari camps which offer
game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles. Some camps
are able to offer both activities.
Chobe National Park & Linyanti
Area
|
In the northeast, the famous Chobe
National Park & Linyanti
area supports great concentrations
of elephant and buffalo. Some
of the best game viewing is in
the private concession areas
adjacent to the Park at camps
like Kings Pool, DumaTau and
Linyanti. Tented Camp.

Makgadikgadi Pans
The Makgadikgadi Pans is an arid desert
area where it seems unlikely that anything
could survive. Set in a grove of Ilala palms,
Jack's camp offers an alluring blend of exposure
to the remote surrounds and some luxurious
touches to camping in the desert. A wide
range of desert adventures are available.
